Sarah Stilwell Weber was born in America in 1878 and died in 1939. She was an illustrator and painter during the golden age of illustration. Her professor, Howard Pyle, was known as the master of that era. She grew close to Pyle and became best friends with his sister Katharine who was also a poet and illustrator. Later on Weber illustrated for Katherine and for Harper's Bazaar at the cusp of the 20th century. She also illustrated for Scribners and the Saturday Evening Post. Her work was mostly of small children, and she was inspired by artists like Pyle, N.C. Wyeth, and Elizabeth Green.
