Horace Vernet was born in Paris, France, the son of Carle Vernet. He became one of the great French military and sporting painters. He decorated the vast Constantine room at Versailles with battle scenes from Valmy, Wagram, Bouvines, and ‘Napoleon at Friedland'. His ‘Painter's Studio' depicts him as he loved to be, surrounded by groups of people, boxing, playing instruments, and leading horses.Horace Vernet painting mostly depict scenes of battles.
