Jules Scalbert was brought into the world in France in 1851 and kicked the bucket in 1928. He was a class painter who spent significant time in neoclassical work showing collectible and legendary subjects. Scalbert concentrated in the studios of Petit and Lehmann at the Beaux-Arts in Paris. He started displaying his work at the Salon in 1876.
