Martin Rico y Ortega was brought into the world in Madrid. He was a companion of Daubigny and was one of the leading Spanish craftsmen to paint his subjects in situ and not in the studio. He got comfortable in Paris and showed there, winning decorations in 1878 and 1889. Ortega is transcendently perceived as an artist that defines the works of art with light. His artistic creations are brimming with light and climate and show his capacity to paint with precise observation.
