Lodovico Cardi Cigoli, better known just as Cigoli, was born in Tuscany, Italy in 1559 and died in 1613. He was an Italian painter during the early Baroque period, he was also an architect. He studied first in Florence under mannerist professor, Alessandro Allori. Later on he was influenced by early Baroque artist which heavily influence the start of his career and the whole of his style. He painted many important paintings and commissions including many religious and theatrical pieces. His works combined a homogenous mix of astromical science and religoug truths, which can be seen as a symbol of the contradicting clash of that time. He spent the last nine years of his life in Rome.
