Julius Adam was born in Munich, Germany in 1826 and died in 1874. He is famous for his animal paintings, and his affinity for cats and kittens. His father Julius Adam Senior was his teacher for a number of years. He moved to South America and was located in Rio de Janiero for six years. When he returned to Germany he spent his life as a full time artist.
